DESCRIPTION:The East Central Grazing Alliance is a joint effort between Belmont County\, Guernsey County\, Monroe County\, and Noble County Soil and Water Conservation Districts\, along with the Ohio Department of Agriculture\, Ohio State University Extension\, and the Natural Resource Conservation Services\, to further our mission of promoting. best management practices of natural resources in grazing systems.\n\n\nEach county will host a workshop and dinner each month starting in July and ending in October. The following dates and topics have been selected\, the location will be announced by postcard the month of the workshop.\n\nJuly 25 – Monroe County at Mark Landefeld’s Farm\nElectric Fencing\, Backgrounding cattle\, bush hogging\, and Asian Long-Horn ticks\n\nAugust 15 – Belmont County at Josh Moore’s Farm\nEQIP practices\, handling facilities\, rainfall simulation\n\nSeptember 19 – Noble County at Eastern Agricultural Research Station\nPasture reclamation\, controlling invasive species\n\nOctober 3 – Guernsey County at Lou Thornton’s Farm\nProducer talk\, grazing basics\, root system development based on different grazing methods\n\nIf you are interested in more information or would like to attend\, please RSVP to the hosting SWCD.
